A1 GPZ900r 1985
The first reload on Nigel's GPZ900r mission to get back into owning a GPZ900r after a selling the "beloved" D186 LVR A3 in Black and Red. This is on a B Plate so a few years before Tax and MOT exemptions.
Ebay purchase for £425 from Brighton. The bike the started my 900 journey to excessive ownership.
Actually a very late 1985 A1 in US A2 colours. Paintwork not so great, tank and carbs needed a clean and winning of "Rat Bike" on my first trip to the German GPZ Owners club meet in Alterkirken.
A2 US colours now stored and a set of the dodgiest plastics I had and an aftermarket nose and mid section, slapped with black and red paint and "viola" ... a Top Gun version that passes the 5m test.
2025 update with correct exhausts and better Top Gun Plastics.
This one had a starter clutch rebuild, which requried splitting the crankcases and not for the faint hearted. After market Neta but pretty standard as things go. Son Ben at Easy Midlands Aeropark at a Top Gun Theme party that the bike was used as a prop for.
